Introductory Course to the Marine Biology of the BAY OF IERANTO

Information:
Theorical - pratical course to get acquainted with Marine BIology in one of the most beautiful and protected in the Mediterranean sea.

5 meetings to learn by hands-on experiences the underwater world of the Bay of Ieranto
6 hours of activities per day, starting from 10.00 until 17.00including: Introductory lectures - data collection through snorkeling - workshops and analysis of the data collected.

we will provide all the equipment necessary for the activities.

SCHEDULE
1° - DISCOVERING THE BAY OF IERANTO
Introduction to the course, study of the environmental parameters of the Bay

2° - THE WORLD OF ALGAE
Study of the algae with sampling activities and classification.

3° - THE FISH FAUNA
Study of fisch of the Bay of Ieranto, with data collection and analysis of the species and habitat.

4° - ZOOLOGY AND HABITAT  OF THE BAY OF IERANTO
Introduction to the zoology with lab activities on the main species of benthos (bottom)

5° - MEET THE POSIDONIA SEAGRASS
Analysis of the plant and the meadows of Posidonia Oceanica, course conclusion
